March BOTM: ‘Your Future Self Will Thank You’ by Drew Dyck

We are right in the middle of Lent, so going through a book about self-control seems fitting. That’s why this month, Your Future Self Will Thank You by Drew Dyck (Moody Publishers), will be featured as the In No Hurry Podcast Book of the Month.

This is a book I’ve been wanting to read for a while and I’m excited to dive into this with my listeners.

Why can’t we control our anger? Or stop overeating? Or wasting time online?

Why can’t we seem to finish our projects? Or make progress in my spiritual life?

Why do we fall for the same stupid temptations over and over again?

We lack self-control.

Speaking personally, self-control is something I like to think I have, but in reality I let myself slide and often make concessions to give myself leeway.

With practicality and humor, Your Future Self Will Thank You explores Scripture’s teachings on how to live a disciplined life while offering practical strategies for growth based on the science of self-control.
