Episode 55: Being Faithful in Every Season with Leslee Holliday

Leslee Holliday is proof that it doesn’t matter what age you are or what season of life you’re in, it’s never too late to pursue your goals or go where God is calling you.

Quite literally and figuratively speaking, Leslee and her husband Matt — a former Major League Baseball player — have gone through a number of seasons in their life. A lot of change and uncertainty can surround the life of a professional athlete, especially when they’re traded to another team, and families have to just roll with it and adjust. Leslee put a lot of her goals on the shelf during Matt’s nearly 20-year professional baseball career, but I love her story about how she’s back in school to earn an undergrad degree and has hopes of attending seminary next year.

Matt, who played for the St. Louis Cardinals 2011 World Series championship team as well as the Colorado Rockies, the Oakland Athletics, and the New York Yankees, was my guest on Episode 39, where we talked about the podcast that he and Leslee started this year, Table Forty. Matt was quick to credit Leslee as the engine behind the show, so it was fun to talk to her about how the show originated and what the goal is for it.

I loved hearing her share stories of Matt’s playing career, including one about how he vomited when he was told he was traded to Oakland. I can’t say I blame him. But mostly I loved hearing how faith Leslee has been to the callings in her life and how faith God has been to her with those callings.

If you love stories, Leslee’s got tons of them here, and even more on her own podcast. Be sure to check out the Table Forty Podcast wherever you get podcasts and give her a follow on Instagram @lesleesmithholliday.
